Washington Post Inks Lease at One Franklin Square

WASHINGTON, DC—It is unclear how much space the paper will be taking in the Hines-owned property when it moves there in 2016.

WASHINGTON, DC—The Washington Post has selected One Franklin Square for its new heaquarters, the newspaper announced on Friday. Located at 1301 K Street, NW, the 12-story, 625,644-square-foot building is owned and managed by Hines. Other tenants in the building include Dentons, Reed Smith LLP Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Xerox Corp—a change for the WaPo, which has been the sole occupier of its current building at 15th and L street, NW, owned by Carr Properties.

Where the Washington Post would move has been the subject of rabid speculation in the local real estate community since last year.
